Festival 2012

Festival 2012 in review

The eleventh Pershore Festival, and they just keep getting better! From the Friday night Chris Barber Band, which was a complete sell out, through our highest attendances yet over the weekend even the weather was the warmest and sunniest we’ve had for many years. The quality of bands couldn’t be faulted and the main complaint we were getting was there’s too much good stuff I can’t see it all! Our thanks go once again to the college staff. Linden on parking duties kept everything flowing smoothly, the wonderful canteen staff who despite the heat were always cheerful and the bar staff who didn’t stop all day keepiing everybody watered.

Below are just a few of the letters and emails we have received.

I would like to thank you and all the hardworking Committee for a brilliant Jazz Festival which my friends and I thoroughly enjoyed. The sunshine was a bonus! Here’s to the next time. Mary

Big thanks for staging such a happy, easy going, musically on song event. This was our first time at Pershore Jazz, so we were very pleased to hear such a good breadth and fantastically accomplished musicians of all ages! Well done. We find fewer and fewer events with such musicality to the fore, particularly for us hot clubbers. Emily amazing and Alan B liquid gold which added to the mix perfectly. Very special to hear on a number of occasions, true improvisation to a brill standard, not just set pieces. Vital and inspiring. We’ll be back next year and spread the word! Helen and Bob

What a wonderfully enjoyable event! So many sets to choose from and unfortunately some clashed so could only see parts of them!!However we were lucky with the weather and despite the heat in some of the venues, I would recommend Pershore Jazz Festival to anyone who likes any style of jazz!! Thank you all the artists and the organisers of such an event. Anne

My wife and I have just returned home from the Pershore jazz festival and although we were there when Graham made his thank you speech to all we would like you to register our appreciation of you and your/team/committee in putting together such a successful and enjoyable event. We would like to suggest that some mechanism ought to be set up whereby attendees could reward the catering and other staff who do such a splendid job in such a friendly way. A collection box seems too crude but you get the idea as most people tip for service when they eat out and over the three days we were there we eat on site exclusively. Once again well done everyone and look forward to seeing next year.
