Festival 2014 in review
Another successful festival under our belts and we are truly grateful for the many positive comments that we have since received. Some of these are included below for you to read.
On behalf of the committee we thank all the musicians who performed and the stewards who helped ensure that the venues ran smoothly. Your help is invaluable to us. We thank the Pershore College for allowing us to rent and hold the festival in their lovely surroundings and of course yourselves – the jazz fans who attended to enjoy an eclectic mix of jazz genres – we hope that you enjoyed the music of your favourite artistes and also discovered some music and bands that you thought you wouldn’t like! We thank our local sponsors and suppliers for their generosity and Vale Pianos for the hire of the excellent pianos, which they kept tuned during the weekend. Barry Kesterton, our festival photographer, has again taken some lovely photographs and we thank him for his time and enthusiasm in taking these.
During the festival a company named Ratatap visited us. They are a music industry resource company designed to spread knowledge, skills and confidence to and from the many contributors of the music industry. They have supplied a write up about our festival organization which you can read on their website ratatap.com
It is perhaps a good time to advise you that the college is undergoing some major refurbishment during the course of this next year and this should enhance some of the venues making them even more attractive. The project should be nearing completion or finished for our next visit in 2015.
The dates for 2015 will be 21/22/23rd August (always the third weekend in August) when we hope to bring together more new bands and performers to the festival along with of course some of our established favourites. Put a note in your diaries now!!
Planning for another festival will soon be underway so keep a look out for details to be published. You can also keep in touch with us on Facebook – just visit the website and ‘like’ the Facebook page – what could be easier! pershorejazz.org.uk

Just a line or two to congratulate you, Graham and all your team on your brilliant 2014 Festival. The choice of bands, the timing of sessions at the various locations, the venue, the accommodation, the real ale !!! Perfect.
Many thanks to all of you for all your time and hard work that made the Festival so enjoyable. A great weekend. Roll on next year !

I was going to write anyway to thank you, Graham and the committee for putting on yet another superb festival. We think the organisation and programming is quite wonderful not least the value for money. Mostly the players are, we think, tiptop and like most jazz participants one can only marvel at the way they all fit in together………
I suppose you are already starting work on the 1915 festival! Our best wishes for that, and thank you again.
Jill Dodds (and Malcolm Ferguson.)
Thank you for letting me have an update on Festival 2015. We are already looking forward to it.
A big thanks to you and all your helpers for another wonderful weekend of amazing music. It was obvious how much effort had been made to ensure everything ran smoothly as there was so much support to control all the different venues as we all weaved in and out of the different events.

I just want to say a very big thank you to all the Pershore Jazz team who made the festival possible. This was my first festival and I am so grateful to my friends who persuaded me to come.
I experienced so many new bands, trios and old favourites, felt like a kid in a sweetshop, what do I choose? I will not be be needing any persuading to come next year.
I want to take this opportunity to congratulate your entire committee for another outstanding Festival. This is our fourth year – it just gets better every time.
In particular we enjoyed the newcomers. Sean Moyes was wonderful, hopefully you will be able to work him in for the future. Bringing the Session group from New Orleans was a brilliant decision. We look forward to seeing them again as well.
As you probably recall we live overseas. We plan our annual Summer trip to the UK around Pershore. Now we are working on trying to get some of our friends to join us.
Thanks again to all the hardworking people who put this wonderful “Party” together.

In the 25 years I have been playing jazz festivals all over the world, the Pershore Jazz Festival that I was invited to play at this last week-end stands out among them. The event was of the highest quality, lovely people, great staff, no issues at all. The calibre of musicianship was staggering and I was honoured to have been invited. So many great moments. WELL DONE!!!!!!
