We enjoyed a great start to our 2025 jazz programme with the wonderful Adrian Cox and his trio

All super stars, these fabulous musicians demonstrated how much they love the music they play with such passion and we learned a little about some of the musicians that have had such an influence for Adrian. The ‘Makin Runs’ project includes compositions by Duke Ellington, Sidne Bechet, Jelly Roll Morton, Barney Bigard to name a few

Makin Runs, according to legend, is a tune attributed to Buddy Bolden and the phrase symbolises Bolden’s vision for inventive improvisations whilst never repeating himself

A superb evening that came to an end all too quickly.
