A storming session to start our 2023 jazz year

Hot Fingers are renowned for giving a good entertaining evening but last night was off the scale – they certainly excelled themselves and there are not enough words to describe what a fabulous session it was

As well as their musicianship and camaraderie on stage their rapport with the audience is excellent and the humour and history of the past greats by Spats is incredible. What a package Hot Fingers are!

We were treated to tunes from many great names such as Bessie Smith, Billie Holliday, Scott Joplin, Cole Porter, Ukulele Ike, Jabbo Smith & The Boswell Sisters. Outstanding tunes for me were In The Pines (which Spats told us was played in last weeks episode of Happy Valley) sung by Spats and with Danny on harmonica, The Entertainer & Words a lovely instrumental. Emily’s beautiful vocals and her additional percussion skills as always appreciated
